Life insurance basics

How much life insurance do I need?

Enough to cover what your family would actually need: final expenses and debts, the day-to-day costs of running your household (including what you do at home) for as long as they’d need it, and goals like college — minus the savings and coverage you already have. It isn’t just a multiple of your income. Our calculator gives you a number in about three minutes.

How much does it cost?

It depends on your age, health, tobacco use, the amount of coverage and the type of policy. Term life is usually the least expensive per dollar of coverage. Because each insurance company prices these things differently, comparing several carriers often makes a real difference — that’s what we do.

Do I need a medical exam?

Not always. Many policies approve you from health questions plus a prescription and medical records check. Larger amounts of coverage may need a short exam, which can often be done at your home.

What’s the difference between term and whole life?

Term life covers you for a set number of years at the lowest cost; whole life covers you for your entire life, with premiums that never change and cash value that grows. Many families use term for the big protection years and a smaller permanent policy for final expenses. See everything we cover.

I have health problems. Can I still get coverage?

Often, yes. Insurance companies look at health conditions very differently — one may decline what another approves. There are also guaranteed-acceptance plans with no health questions, usually with a waiting period before the full benefit is paid.

Can I buy a policy for my parents?

Yes, with their knowledge and consent — they’ll need to take part in the application and sign it. Many families do this with final expense coverage.

Working with us

Do I pay you anything?

No. You pay the insurance company your premium, and nothing to us. Agents are paid a commission by the insurance company, which is part of the carrier’s pricing — it isn’t added on top of your premium.

Why use an agent instead of buying online?

You get someone who compares several carriers for you, explains the fine print, helps with the application — and is still there years later for changes and claims.

What happens after I buy?

We go through your policy with you when it arrives, check in every year to make sure it still fits, handle changes like beneficiaries and payment dates, and help your family if they ever need to file a claim.

Which states do you serve?

Our agents are licensed in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington. Most appointments happen by phone or video.
